Byron Almén is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the University of Texas at Austin. He is the author of A Theory of Musical Narrative, Indiana University Press, 2009, the co-editor, with Edward Pearsall, of Approaches to Musical Meaning, Indiana University Press, 2006, and numerous articles and book chapters on music, narrative, film, and Jung. A recent project is his book on Jungian type and the analysis of filmic, literary, and musical discourses.
