Personality Type in Depth (PTD) was created in 2010 by Carol Shumate and Mark Hunziker to publish scholarship that reunites psychological type with depth psychology. In 2016, Hunziker introduced the term “depth typology” for this field of study which explores the interaction of the conscious and unconscious aspects of psychological type as conceived by C.G. Jung. In 2021, PTD became the journal of the Depth Typology Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to support and grow the global community of depth typology enthusiasts, practitioners, thought leaders, and new learners. Articles undergo rigorous review and professional editing. In keeping with its educational mission, subscription access is free, and all issues are available to the public online.
